Perovskite Solar Cell Academic and Industrialization Greater bay Area Forum 2024

Background

Perovskite solar cell is a promising next-generation photovoltaic technology and is rapidly entering the market. Universities and scientific research institutions around the world have actively invested in the research and development of perovskite technology, and some scientific research institutions have announced a laboratory cell efficiency of more than 26%; while China's leading perovskite cell companies are advancing the process of industrialization. The challenges faced by perovskite cells are mainly further improve the efficiency of commercial-scale cells, stability and large-scale manufacturing, as well as the improvement of relevant test standards and technologies.

 

As the most technologically challenging and differentiated segment within the photovoltaic industry chain, the development of photovoltaic cells has attracted much attention, among which perovskite cell technology has always been a hot topic in the industry. The development of the perovskite industry has been rapidly accelerating, marked by incremental technological breakthroughs. In terms of efficiency enhancement, the cost and efficiency advantages of perovskite technology are significant, with the promise of it becoming the ultimate solution in the future.

 

In terms of academia, China's perovskite solar cell R&D teams are united in their efforts to discover the most competitive and cost-effective technological pathways through a combination of production and research. Cell efficiencies are consistently breaking new highs, with a majority of global patent applications. Significant advancements have been made in the materials selection and preparation processes for various film layers, including the hole transport layer, perovskite layer, electron transport layer, and electrode layer.

 

In terms of industrialization, groundbreaking progress has been achieved by companies, such as GCL, Microquanta, UtmoLight, Renshine, Wonder and Auner. Moreover, the perovskite sector in the Zhujiang Delta region is experiencing robust growth. In January 2024, Hiking PV perovskite/c-Si tandem cell production line was established in Zhongshan; in February, Photon Crystal 815.9cm² large-scale perovskite modules achieved a steady-state efficiency of 20.13%; in March, Phenosolar perovskite production line was settled in Chaozhou; in April, Mellow Energy commenced construction on a 100MW perovskite module production line; SolaEon 1027.1cm² perovskite modules achieved the highest conversion efficiency on record at the NREL.

 

Perovskite Solar Cell Academic and Industrialization Greater bay Area Forum 2024 will be held on July 18-19 in Dongguan, Guangdong, China.
