Currently, at the H2-base energy industry production end, Dalian had laid out CGN phase I 120kt/a green methanol, Envision Group 300kt/a green ammonia and Health Pack Group green aviation kerosene the three demo projects on Changxing Island, totalizing up CNY10.6bn investment.
At the storage/transport end, Changxing Island and COSCO Shipping Dalian Investment Company JV 10kt and 50kt green hydrogen/ammonia/methanol piers and liquid chemical common tank yard are under construction on Xizhong Island. Phase I piers is expected to put in use by Jun 2025, followed by the tank yard put in operation in 2026.
At the trade end, Dalian is working hard to strive for over 20 green ammonia/methanol projects totalizing up 10Mt/a capacity, under construction and/or in planning stage in Eastern Jilin, Heilongjiang, and Inner Mongolia, to stored, transport and trade at Xizhong Island Base in Dalian, with the potential volume of over CNY50bn in the future.
At the refill end, with the back-up of good deep-water port and opening advantages, Dalian would pay efforts to build a green fuel refueling center for ships from Northeast Asia. The city has established close contact with COSCO Shipping, China Shipbuilding Fuel, China National Combustion Engine Shipping, and more, becoming the initiator of Northeast Asia Green Ship Fuel Supply Chain Alliance in Liaoning Province. This has laid an important foundation for building the national green ship fuel refueling demo spot and an international green shipping corridor.
In addition, Dalian Changxing Island also actively promote CAS DICP academician Li Chan team ”Liquid Sunshine” and artificial photosynthesis demo project, as well as DICP deputy chief Li Xianfeng’s energy storage key material, researcher prof. Deng Dehui’s sea water desalination & electrolysis to hydrogen, and more international original technology demo and industrial application projects, and has been coordinating and negotiating with multiple enterprises on projects such as solid oxide fuel cell hydrogen producing equipment, fully automated alkaline (hydrogen producing) electrolysis tub manufacturing, and all vanadium liquid flow battery stack manufacturing, to accelerate cooperation in the innovation chain and equipment manufacturing industry chain of hydrogen based energy, and work with well-known third-party institutions in the industry to provide services such as carbon footprint testing and green certification for hydrogen based energy, striving to build a demo base for the whole industry chain of hydrogen based new energy.
The 2024 Biomass Gasification Technology Conference will be held in Guilin from August 13th to 14th. The meeting will explore the production capacity planning of green methanol and SAF, as well as the market prospects for biomass gasification, biomass resource analysis and collection and transportation plans, biomass crushing and shaping pretreatment technology and equipment, biomass fixed bed, fluidized bed, airflow bed and pyrolysis gasification processes and demonstration experience, bio based synthesis gas purification and wastewater treatment, research progress and large-scale planting prospects of energy plants, etc.
