On February 13, 2025, the groundbreaking ceremony of the Vanadium Flow Energy Storage Full Industry Chain Project in the Zunyi Comprehensive Bonded Zone was held with great pomp. The project, with a total investment of 3 billion yuan, is invested and constructed by Guizhou Zhixi Technology Co., Ltd. and will be carried out in three phases. Phase I plans to invest 500 million yuan, Phase II will invest 1.5 billion yuan, and Phase III will invest 1 billion yuan.
The project aims to build a vanadium flow energy storage equipment production base with a capacity of 1GWh to 8GWh, covering an annual 1GWh stack production line, an annual 300,000 square meters perfluorinated ionomer membrane production line, and an annual 1GWh integration line. It will also be equipped with an Energy Storage Research Institute.
Currently, the project has obtained the enterprise investment project filing certificate and is simultaneously conducting preliminary work such as construction plan design and environmental impact assessment. Phase I is expected to be completed in 2025, and the entire project is expected to be finished within five years. After Phase I is operational, the annual output value is expected to reach over 1 billion yuan, with exports exceeding 200 million yuan. The project will create more than 800 jobs and help the Xinpu New District build the "Capital of Vanadium Energy Storage".
Guizhou Zhixi Technology Co., Ltd., established in 2022, focuses on the research and development and industrial production of new energy vanadium flow energy storage batteries. The company has set up an Energy Storage Research Institute, with four research institutes and laboratories under its Technology Center, holding more than 30 invention patents. It also collaborates deeply with research institutions such as the School of Chemical Engineering at Central South University.
