In the morning of Jan 14th, SINOPEC CTO process upgrading demo project environment impact evaluation report audition was held in Dalu Industry Park, Junggar Economy Developing Zone.
On Dec 31st 2025, the Ministry of Ecology & Environment acknowledged admission of SINOPEC Great Wall Energy Chemical (Inner Mongolia) Co Ltd CTO process upgrading demo project for environment evaluation.
The project is a CNY22.1bn investment to newly build 2.26Mt/a coal-to-methanol unit (including coal gasification, cleaning, methanol synthesis and sulfur recovery subunits), 2.26Mt/a MTO unit (OCC included), polyolefin units (250kt/a polypropylene unit [circular tube], 200kt/a polypropylene unit [gaseous phase], 350kt/a polyethylene unit, and 100kt/a EVA/LDPE unit). In addition, the construction scope would include ASU and IGCC thermal power station, as well as other accessory utility & auxiliary facilities etc.
