ASIACHEM recently launched “China biomass gasification process & project 2026 annual report” and “China biomass gasification process & project database”. Biomass gasification is the core technology in sustainable fuel industry, using the syngas (H2, CO, CO2) obtained from biomass gasification to produce green methanol, or to produce sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) through F-T synthesis reaction. Home & abroad planned green methanol/SAF projects has totalized up over CNY300bn investment, bringing huge business opportunities for the technology/equipment suppliers and engineering companies engaging in biomass gasification industry chain.
On Jan 4th, Luzhou City Ecology & Environment Bureau made decision to approve “Luzhou Lanze 100kt/a biomass-to-sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) demo project” environment impact report.
The project is a CNY3.5bn investment to newly build 100kt/a biomass-to-SAF production unit as well as accessory utility/auxiliary facilities. The project would use wine lees, bamboo powder and sawdust etc as raw materials, and apply the process steps of gasification, gas cleaning, F-T synthesis and oil product processing etc, to obtain sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) as main product, along with the byproducts of naphtha, sulfur, and water treatment-use composite carbon source etc.
